Hormone Therapy for Major Changes

One of the most popular hormone treatments nowadays is hormone replacement therapy. In this process, the natural gender hormones are replaced by wanted ones. Example of such are estrogen therapy for those undergoing male to female sex replacement and testosterone therapy for the female to male cases.

To be able to reassign a sex, a person may undergo sex change where the sex organ is replaced with the one of the opposite sex and/or hormone replacement therapy wherein higher intake of an estrogen or testosterone is done.

The desired effects of such hormone replacement therapy are not yet consistent between subjects. For example, higher estrogen intake can trigger any of the following female phenomena – breast augmentation, softer skin and more but there is no guarantee that all these will be evident per subject or user, same argument applies to those undergoing testosterone therapies. The reassignment of sex is said to occur when the subject is already experiencing any of these intended body phenomena. Usually, these hormone replacement therapies are conducted through oral intake such as pills. Access to these medications is not yet clear and open for everyone because estrogen pills are only legally sold to those menopausal women with prescription of such.
